An evening of piano music has been organized at the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art

An evening of piano music was held at the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art on September 21 as part of the 13th Uzeyir Hajibayli International Music Festival.

TheĀ event featured works by local and foreign composers performed by Professor of the Baku Music Academy, People’s Artist Ulviya Hajibeyova and famous pianist Saida Tagizade.

Announcing the purpose of the concert, pianist and composer U.Hajibeyova said: ā€œWe celebrate three important events in Azerbaijan.Ā The liberation of our native Karabakh as a result of the leadership of the First Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the heroism of our National Army, the 100th anniversary of the Second Baku Music Academy and finally the birth of genius composer, founder of Azerbaijan’s professional music, musicologist, public figure Uzeyir Hajibeyli We celebrate the National Music Day, which we adopted in accordance with the relevant decree of national leader Heydar Aliyev. ā€

He said that today’s concert program includes works covering classicism and romanticism.

The program featured works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Ferruccio Buzoni, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Jean-Philippe Ramo, Gara Garayev, A. Malikov, Ismail Hajibeyov, Faraj Garayev, and Firangiz Alizade.

The concert ended with an overture from the opera “Koroglu”.
