Baku: Within the framework of the 4th International Mine Action Conference on 'Humanitarian Demining for Urban Recovery: Setting Standards of Excellence for Safe Settlements,' a significant Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center (ARMAC). The event, held on September 2, 2026, in Baku, was jointly organized by ANAMA and the United Nations in Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the agreement was formalized by Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of ANAMA, and Rothna But, Executive Director of ARMAC. This collaboration paves the way for enhanced cooperation in humanitarian demining, focusing on experience and knowledge exchange, sharing best practices, and promoting joint initiatives in areas of mutual interest.
The Memorandum of Understanding marks a pivotal step in advancing international collaboration to tackle Azerbaijan's mine challenges.
