Jakarta: A regional seminar on 'Strengthening Information Management for Humanitarian Mine Action in the ASEAN Region' is currently underway in Jakarta, Indonesia, from August 10 to 12. This event is jointly organized by the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center (ARMAC) and the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD).
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Elnur Gasimov, the Head of the Quality Control Department of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), is participating in the seminar as an expert speaker. The seminar aims to bolster regional cooperation in information management for humanitarian mine action, share international best practices, enhance technical capacities, and facilitate the exchange of experiences in data management.
The Agency representative provided attendees with comprehensive insights into the extensive humanitarian demining efforts undertaken in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. During discussions about establishing a joint information center within ASEAN, which includes 11 member countries, Azerbaijan's Law 'On Mine Action' and the Regulation 'On the Mine Action Information System,' along with existing centralized institutional coordination mechanisms and the successfully implemented Unified Information System, were highlighted as effective examples.
