Baku: Leading Georgian media outlets and television channels, including 'Interpressnews.ge,' '1TV.ge,' and 'BPN.ge,' have published reports highlighting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, as well as his remarks during an interview with Azerbaijan Television.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, in the interview, the Azerbaijani head of state discussed Armenia's capitulation during the Second Garabagh War, Azerbaijan's energy policy, and the regional threat posed by Armenia's nuclear power plant. The reports quoted President Ilham Aliyev as stating that the signing of a trilateral statement by the President of Azerbaijan, the President of Russia, and the Prime Minister of Armenia marked an act of capitulation by Armenia. He emphasized that Armenia surrendered territories such as Aghdam, Kalbajar, and Lachin without military confrontation, underscoring the compelled nature of this concession under wartime conditions.

President Aliyev also elaborated on Azerbaijan's growing energy potential, noting the country's comprehensive energy supply in oil, gas, and electricity. He highlighted Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to expand export capabilities to neighboring countries and the European market. The President mentioned the strategic importance of routes through Georgia and Trkiye and revealed that the feasibility study for the Black Sea energy cable project was complete. Additionally, he referenced an agreement signed in November 2024 during COP29 with the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to lay an underwater electricity cable across the Caspian Sea, stressing the need for preparedness in this endeavor.
