ANAMA Neutralizes 60 Mines and 130 UXOs in Azerbaijan

Anama: The Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) has successfully neutralized 60 mines and 130 unexploded ordnance (UXOs) during its recent mine-clearance operations. These operations, conducted from February 9 to 15, spanned across multiple districts, including Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, Khojavend, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, and Zangilan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, ANAMA's efforts led to the detection and neutralization of 53 anti-personnel mines, 7 anti-tank mines, and the aforementioned UXOs. This comprehensive operation has resulted in the clearance of 385 hectares of land, making it safer for local communities and enabling future development in the region.

The mine-clearance initiative reflects ANAMA's ongoing commitment to ensuring safety and security in Azerbaijan's post-conflict regions, mitigating the risks posed by remnants of past conflicts.
