Baku: A total of 84 anti-personnel mines, 29 anti-tank mines, and 514 unexploded ordnances (UXOs) were detected and neutralized during mine-clearance operations in Azerbaijan's liberated territories from June 16 to 21, according to the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA).
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, ANAMA reported that a significant area of 1,710.16 hectares was successfully cleared of hazardous mines and unexploded ordnances during this period. The agency's ongoing efforts are vital for ensuring the safety and rehabilitation of these territories, enabling residents to return and resume their daily lives without the threat of hidden explosives.
The clearance operations are part of a broader initiative to address the remnants of past conflicts in the region, aiming to restore the land for agricultural use and community development.
