Tehran: A delegation led by Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova will attend the farewell ceremony of Iran's former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, APA reports. The ceremony will take place at the Mosalla complex in Tehran on July 4-5, followed by a funeral procession to the city of Qom.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the plan is to lay Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei to rest in Mashhad on July 9, in line with his final wishes. The former Supreme Leader was killed along with close family members during a joint US-Israeli attack on Tehran on February 28, and he was subsequently succeeded by his son, Mojtaba Khamenei.
