ANAMA Uncovers 132 Mines and 683 UXOs in Liberated Azerbaijani Territories

Baku: A recent report from the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) has revealed significant progress in the ongoing efforts to clear mines and unexploded ordnances (UXOs) in territories recently liberated from occupation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, ANAMA’s weekly report covering the period from May 19, 2025, to May 25, 2025, details the discovery of 80 anti-personnel mines, 52 anti-tank mines, and 683 UXOs. These hazardous remnants of conflict were found in several regions, including Tartar, Aghdam, Aghdara, Lachin, Fuzuli, Shusha, Khojaly, Khankendi, Kalbajar, Khojavend, Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan.

The report also highlights that an area totaling 1,798.7 hectares has been successfully cleared of mines and UXOs. This ongoing initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure the safety and accessibility of these territories for the returning population and aid in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the affected regions.
