Baku: Hosting WUF13 is a great honor and responsibility for Azerbaijan. WUF13 is more than just a conference. It is a platform where discussions on urban policy take place and partnerships are formed to implement the New Urban Agenda and development goals, said Anar Guliyev, National Coordinator of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) and Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, during the Leaders' Statements at WUF13. According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Committee Chairman mentioned that cities are currently central to climate change concerns for the global community, emphasizing the forum's significance. Anar Guliyev highlighted the importance of this year's forum by noting that, for the first time, a meeting of leaders, heads of state, and government was organized at WUF13 at the initiative of Azerbaijan.
