ANAS Hosts Key Meeting with Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Delegation

Baku: Academician Isa Habibbayli, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), recently hosted a significant meeting with a visiting delegation from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. This meeting, held at the ANAS Presidium, highlighted the growing strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China, particularly in the realm of scientific collaboration.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Habibbayli emphasized the robust development of scientific cooperation between the two nations, underscoring the strong ties ANAS has cultivated with numerous Chinese scientific and higher education institutions. He mentioned that the cooperation memorandum signed in 2012 with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences has been successfully implemented, paving the way for new collaborative ventures. Habibbayli also called for an update to the memorandum, noting the planned publication of works by Chinese writers and poets on Azerbaijan.

Yang Jin, deputy secretary-general of the SCO Research Center at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, praised the swift advancement of Azerbaijan-China cooperation and the notable achievements in joint scientific research. Reflecting on his first visit to Azerbaijan in 2012, Yang Jin remarked on the significant progress he has observed since then and shared that he has authored a book detailing Azerbaijan's scientific connections with China. He committed to relaying ANAS President Habibbayli's proposals to his colleagues in China.

The meeting concluded with both parties exchanging insights and perspectives on enhancing bilateral scientific cooperation, further solidifying the partnership between the two esteemed institutions.
