Anti-terrorist operation ends in Kazakhstan’s Almaty

The anti-terrorist operation has wrapped up in Almaty, Kazakhstan, said the country’s Anti-terrorist Center.

In accordance with the decision of the head of Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee, the ‘red level’ of terrorist threat in Almaty has been changed to ‘yellow level’, read a message posted on the website of the National Security Committee.

Earlier, the building of the Almaty District Interior Department and a department of the National Security Committee were attacked.

Three police officers and one civilian were killed as a result of the incident. Eight people have been hospitalized.

The suspected attacker was wounded and detained by the police. He has already been identified. The attacker’s supposed accomplice was also detained.
