Baku: The Egyptian publications such as 'Al-Akhbar Al-Masai,' 'al-Alam al-Arabi' and Algeria's "Tariq al-Harir" have published an article by Elvin Sultanov, a researcher at the East-West Department of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after academician Ziya Bunyadov of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). The article highlights the establishment, political situation, population, and territory of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the article features an excerpt from the article on the Azerbaijani government and the delegation in Paris demanding independence published in the Egyptian newspaper "Al-Ahram" dated July 27, 1919, and at the same time, along with clarifications of several points. The article emphasized that on January 11, 1920, the Supreme Council of the Paris Peace Conference granted de facto recognition to the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, whose territory at the time included the Zangezur region.
Additionally, it highlighted that the modern Republic of Azerbaijan is the political and legal successor of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.
