Yerevan: Armenia plans to normalise relations with Azerbaijan and Trkiye under the government's 2026-2031 programme presented by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, according to the document published on Thursday. With Azerbaijan, the government plans to continue work on delimiting the countries' shared border and institutionalise peace through a peace treaty and other relevant legal agreements, as unveiled ahead of parliamentary debates. With Trkiye, Armenia plans to establish diplomatic relations with Ankara and open the land border between the two countries, including by launching at least two modern border crossing points, the document said. The programme also calls for the restoration and expansion of transport, energy, and digital infrastructure between Armenia and Trkiye. The government said Armenia would contin ue pursuing what it described as a balanced and balancing foreign policy. Developing relations with neighbouring countries - Azerbaijan, Trkiye, Georgia, and Iran - is listed among the government's key priorities.
