Yerevan: Armenia has initiated the process of restoring the Gyumri-Akhurik and Yeraskh (Arazdayan) railway sections. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan confirmed the commencement of the restoration work and emphasized the importance of Armenia's involvement in international railway developments in the region.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency,Pashinyan highlighted the strategic necessity of these projects, stating that Armenia must not remain a bystander while new international railway routes are being established. He underscored the significance of managing Armenia's railway assets, affirming that these railways are national property and must be managed by Armenia itself.
Pashinyan also mentioned that discussions regarding the remaining sections of the railway are ongoing, including negotiations with Russian partners. This move is part of a broader strategy to ensure that Armenia actively participates in and benefits from regional infrastructure developments.
