Baku: The Armenian delegation has remained silent regarding the transfer of the body of Agasyan Vera Varashakovna, an Armenian-descended individual who passed away in Khankandi. This was confirmed by General-Lieutenant Sharafat Hasanov, the Deputy Head of the State Security Service, during a presentation by the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) organized by the State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Hasanov noted that the Armenian side and the children of Vera Varashakovna were informed of her passing on October 20, 2024, through the International Committee of the Red Cross. Despite all necessary documentation being prepared for the transfer of her body, and a direct discussion held at the border in February without mediators, there has been no response from the Armenian side for nearly five months.
The issue of the non-repatriation remains unresolved, leaving questions about the Armenian delegation’s stance on the matter.
