Armenian PM Questions Catholicos Garegin II on Celibacy Vow

Yerevan: Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has publicly urged Catholicos Garegin II to address allegations concerning the breach of his vow of celibacy and the possibility of him having a child. Pashinyan conveyed his appeal through a message on his Telegram channel, as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the role of the Catholicos of All Armenians as a figure of unquestionable authority and a defender of justice. Pashinyan expressed disbelief at the possibility of the Catholicos concealing the truth, asserting that it is the right of the public to receive truthful answers from him.

Pashinyan’s call for transparency comes amid growing speculation and demands for accountability within religious and public circles. The Prime Minister’s request underscores the significance of integrity and truthfulness in leadership roles, particularly in religious institutions.
