Baku: A total of more than 61 billion cubic meters of associated gas has been delivered to the Azerbaijani state from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) oil and gas field block, APA-Economics reports, citing bp's report on the results of its activities in Azerbaijan for 2025.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, it was noted that approximately 4.6 billion barrels of oil have been produced from the ACG field to date. The ACG field has been a significant source of energy for Azerbaijan, contributing substantial volumes of oil and gas since the start of operations.
Last year, the ACG operations included the drilling and completion of 10 oil production wells, 5 water injectors, 1 gas injector, and 1 well for re-injection of cuttings. These developments highlight the ongoing efforts to optimize production and maintain the operational efficiency of the ACG field.
The ACG agreement was initially signed on September 20, 1994, marking a pivotal moment in Azerbaijan's energy sector. The first oil was obtained from the Chirag field on November 7, 1997, setting the stage for decades of productive energy extraction from the region.
