Austrian Team Joins Nakhchivan Restoration Efforts at Momine Khatun Mausoleum

Nakhchivan: Restoration and conservation efforts at the Momine Khatun Mausoleum in Nakhchivan city are progressing with the involvement of Austrian specialists. These works are funded by allocations made in accordance with an order from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, metal structures are being installed around the mausoleum. The Austrian company 'Tralsmauer Gerstbau Gmbh,' led by Mustafa Erdogan, has dispatched a team of specialists to Nakhchivan to undertake these tasks. A contract has been signed with another Austrian company, 'Atelier Erich Pummer GmbH,' to carry out the restoration and conservation works. The company's specialists initiated work last year by setting up initial infrastructure, including fencing, laying communication lines, and conducting technical studies to address issues caused by groundwater.

In 2026, an allocation of 9 million 566 thousand manats from the Reserve Fund of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan is set to further support the ongoing restoration and conservation activities at the Momine Khatun Mausoleum. This project is highlighted as one of the most significant initiatives within the Year of Urban Planning and Architecture in Azerbaijan.
