Ayaz Huseynov: Delivery of medicines to the regions has improved the quality of life of hemophilia patients

The provision of hemophilia patients with coagulation drugs funded under the state program has reached a peak compared to previous years. The delivery of these drugs, which are important for those suffering from blood diseases, to the regions has led to a fundamental change in the quality of life of patients.

The statement came from chairman of the Republican Association of Hemophilia Patients Ayaz Huseynov, AZERTAC reported.

A.Huseynov, citing the example of hemophilia patients living in the regions, said that a patient with a group 2 disability came to Baku from Shamkir 27 times a year to get essential medicines, which meant that he had to travel 27,000 kilometers with severe pain due to bleeding. At present, the required monthly dose of such patients is delivered to regional blood banks. Valeh Huseynov, Executive Director of the National Center for Hematology and Transfusiology, achieved these successes in a short period of time, based on international criteria.

Ayaz Huseynov also informed about the results of monitoring conducted among patients suffering from other coagulation disorders and their parents registered at the National Hematology and Transfusiology Center of the Republican Association of Hemophilia Patients earlier this year: “It turned out that since the second half of 2020 and there is progress in the doctor-patient relationship, as well as high-quality services in the center’s management system and treatment of diseases. The parents said that, unlike in the past, we now go to the National Center for Hematology and Transfusiology with great confidence and hope.
