Baku: Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), a part of AZCON Holding, has successfully launched its inaugural flight to Aktobe, Kazakhstan, marking the addition of its sixth destination within the country. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the inclusion of Aktobe into AZAL's route network reflects the airline's strategic expansion in Central Asia. This development, as reported by the Press Service of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC to APA-Economics, brings the total number of Kazakh destinations serviced by AZAL to six.

The airline will operate regular flights on the Baku-Aktobe-Baku route thrice weekly, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This schedule is expected to bolster business ties and tourism exchanges between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, facilitating smoother mutual travel.

Aktobe, situated in western Kazakhstan, serves as a significant industrial and economic hub for the country. It is renowned for its rich historical and cultural heritage, alongside distinctive natural landmarks. The region boasts attractions such as the Aktolagay chalk mountains, Barkhyn sands, Kargaly reservoir, and a host of historical and sacred sites. These features make Aktobe an attractive option for both business travelers and those interested in exploring the cultural, historical, and natural landscapes of western Kazakhstan.

The introduction of flights to Aktobe follows the earlier launch of services to Shymkent and Atyrau this year, signaling another milestone in the national carrier's efforts to expand its route network in Central Asia. Additionally, the new flights provide Kazakh passengers with access to AZAL's broader international destinations via Baku.
