State-owned "Azerbaijan Airlines" CJSC carried about 335,000 passengers in July this year, which, according to Turan IA calculations, is a monthly record for the entire period of its activity. According to the State Statistics Committee, in July last year, 313,700 passengers used services of local airlines, which is 99.9% AZAL, and in June this year - 266,900 passengers. Total of 1 million 568.300 people were carried by local airlines in the first seven months of this year, which is up by 37.8% from the comparable period of 2022. According to SSC calculations, prices for air tickets to/from Azerbaijan's international airports rose by 23.7% year-on-year during this period. As a reminder, after the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, air travel is practically the only means of travelling to/from Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani government has announced the extension of this regime until 1 October. What decision will be adopted on the opening of land borders is not yet known.
