Azerbaijan Aims for Eight Gigawatts of Solar and Wind Energy by 2032

Davos: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has announced an ambitious plan to achieve eight gigawatts of solar and wind energy by 2032. Speaking at the 'Azerbaijan Executive Breakfast,' part of the annual World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Aliyev emphasized the importance of diversifying the national economy, highlighting the growing interest in renewable energy sources.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev detailed the country's progress in renewable energy, mentioning the inauguration of two major power stations. He outlined plans for a significant increase in the production of solar and wind energy over the next six years. The President pointed to the abundant sun and wind resources in Azerbaijan as key factors in realizing this potential and noted ongoing projects and considerations for energy storage solutions.
