London: Azerbaijan Airlines, part of AZCON Holding, has been named Best Regional Airline in Central Asia and CIS at the 2026 World Airline Awards. The ceremony, organized by international air transport rating organization Skytrax, took place on September 18 at The Langham, London.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the award recognizes the airline's continued focus on improving the passenger experience through fleet modernization, an expanding route network, and service enhancements. Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, remarked that Azerbaijan Airlines has become a benchmark for regional airline service in Central Asia and CIS. He highlighted the airline's dedication to consistent development, expansion of its fleet, growth of its route network, and enhancement of service quality.
Samir Rzayev, Chairman of the Management Board of Azerbaijan Airlines, expressed that the recognition belongs to the airline's personnel, whose dedication shapes the passenger experience every day. He emphasized that the award reflects the trust passengers place in Azerbaijan Airlines. As the airline invests in new aircraft, expands its network, and improves its services, its focus remains on making every journey safer, more comfortable, and more convenient.
