Baku: Aykhan Hajizada, Head of the Press Service Department of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commented on the position of the Spokesperson of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs on the travel warning for Azerbaijan, the Press Service of the MFA told APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Hajizada stated, "We firmly condemn and reject the attempt by the Spokesperson of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, in a statement dated 17 September, to justify the travel warning for Azerbaijan by citing allegations on 'risks of arbitrary detention and unfair trial.'"

He further expressed that the presentation of court proceedings conducted in accordance with Azerbaijani legislation in individual criminal cases on the basis of political considerations, as well as attempts to interfere in Azerbaijan's judicial system, are unacceptable. Hajizada highlighted that France, while making such allegations against Azerbaijan, fails to consider issues within its own law enforcement and penitentiary systems.

Moreover, Hajizada pointed out France's violations of international law and its practices involving racism, discrimination, and restrictions on human rights, stating that these are well known globally. He urged the French side to refrain from making groundless and biased allegations against Azerbaijan and to respect the country's sovereignty and internal affairs. He called for an end to approaches that harm bilateral relations.
