Azerbaijan Allocates Increased Funds for 2026 Pension Indexation, Forecasts 9.2% Rise in Payments

Baku: The amount of funds allocated for pension indexation for next year has been announced, APA reports. Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Anar Aliyev, provided this information during today’s plenary session of the Milli Majlis while discussing the draft law ‘On the Budget of the State Social Protection Fund for 2026.’

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the minister noted that the funds allocated for financing labor pensions for 2026 are planned to increase by 782.4 million manats, or 10.9%, compared to the approved expenditures for 2025. Of this amount, 81.2%, or 635.6 million manats, accounts for indexation expenses, while the remaining portion is allocated for financing newly granted and recalculated pensions. The indexation for 2026 is expected to be approximately 9.2%, with the average pension amount projected to increase by 9.2% to 590 manats. The old-age pension amount is expected to reach 629 manats.
