Baku: Chairman of the Board of Directors of ‘AzerGold’ Closed Joint Stock Company (CJSC), Zakir Ibrahimov, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Argentina to Azerbaijan, Marianxeles Bellushi, AzerGold told APA-Economics. During the meeting, Ibrahimov provided details on the successes of AzerGold CJSC, its strategic plans, and ongoing efforts in the mining sector.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ibrahimov highlighted that the company no longer relies on the state budget for gold mining projects. Preparations for exploiting new non-ferrous and ferrous metal deposits are progressing well. AzerGold’s export activities are enhancing Azerbaijan’s economic diversification, especially in the non-oil and gas sectors. Ibrahimov attributed these achievements to economic reforms, a favorable investment environment, and state support.
Ibrahimov expressed interest in collaborating with countries rich in mineral resources, including Argentina, known for its significant economic potential in Latin America. Potential partnerships could lead to new projects. Bellushi noted Argentina’s substantial reserves of silver, copper, and lithium and expressed interest in collaborating with AzerGold CJSC to explore and manage these resources.
The ambassador stressed the importance of joint efforts in mining as a new cooperation area between Argentina and Azerbaijan. Partnering with AzerGold, known for its expertise in geological exploration and mining, promises mutual benefits. The discussion concluded with both parties considering experience exchange and cooperation prospects in various mining areas, recognizing the meeting’s value in evaluating future bilateral cooperation possibilities.
