Jabrayil: On the administrative territory of Jabrayil district, part of the East Zangezur economic region, a 229.0 ha state-owned land plot has been designated as a renewable energy area for the construction of a solar power plant with a total capacity of 100 MW and an initial capacity of 50 MW. Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed the relevant resolution.

According to Trend News Agency, the resolution states that the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy should adhere to the “Procedure for selecting a producer of electric energy in the territory of renewable energy sources.” This procedure was approved by Presidential Decree No. 2285 on August 2, 2023, and is intended to facilitate the selection of an electric energy producer in the area of renewable energy sources.

The Urban Planning and Construction Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan has sanctioned the permit for constructing the solar power plant on the designated 229.0 ha land plot, which is earmarked as a territory of renewable energy sources for el
ectric energy production. This permit has been effective since the resolution’s date of entry into force.
