Baku: Teymur Musayev, Azerbaijan's Minister of Health, recently conducted a meeting with a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), led by Christine Engstrom, Director General of the bank's Sectors Department 3 (SD3). The focus of the meeting was on exploring joint initiatives aimed at enhancing the healthcare system in Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Teymur Musayev highlighted the Azerbaijani government's commitment to advancing the healthcare sector. The priorities include the sustainable development of the healthcare system, modernizing medical infrastructure, and ensuring access to quality healthcare services for the population. He noted significant progress in recent years, particularly in modernizing medical institutions and implementing digital solutions nationwide.

The Minister emphasized that collaboration with the Asian Development Bank plays a crucial role in effectively implementing healthcare reforms and applying international best practices. He pointed out the importance of future joint initiatives, especially those involving innovative projects aimed at developing regional healthcare infrastructure and bolstering the capacity of the medical workforce.

Christine Engstrom lauded the Azerbaijani government's healthcare reforms and reiterated ADB's readiness to support these initiatives. She stressed the strategic importance of cooperation with Azerbaijan in human capital development and social sector projects. Engstrom expressed particular interest in new joint endeavors focusing on maternal and child health, medical workforce training, and the adoption of innovative medical technologies.
