Azerbaijan and Belarus Celebrate Strengthened Strategic Partnership

Baku: Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, and Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, made joint statements to the press following a bilateral meeting. The discussions underscored the enduring and reliable friendship between Azerbaijan and Belarus, as highlighted by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova emphasized the pivotal role that the friendly relations between the presidents of both nations play, along with high-level reciprocal visits and meetings, in advancing bilateral ties. She highlighted the ongoing cooperation between the legislative bodies of Azerbaijan and Belarus within international organizations such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the CIS Parliamentary Assembly, and the Asian Parliamentary Assembly.

Gafarova reiterated the importance of the interparliamentary ties that continue to strengthen the partnership between the two countries. Meanwhile, Igor Sergeyenko expressed positive impressions of his visit to Azerbaijan. He praised the interparliamentary relations and recalled his participation in the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum on the instructions of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko, acknowledging the successful organization of the event.
