Khankendi: Elchin Yusubov, the Special Representative of the President in Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, has announced ambitious plans for the city of Khankendi at an event titled 'Post-conflict urban planning: Restoring destroyed identity and rebuilding an integrated future.' The event was held at the Azerbaijan pavilion during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13). Yusubov highlighted the recent demolition of dilapidated buildings to make way for the Victory Arch, a significant monument symbolizing the city's transformation.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Yusubov elaborated on the city's future development, stating that a new Master Plan is underway for Khankendi. This plan is set to increase the city's population from 62,000 to 80,000. The Special Representative emphasized that once the Master Plan is finalized, it will pave the way for more comprehensive construction efforts. Additionally, large parks are being developed, and existing parks are undergoing restoration to enhance the urban landscape of Khankendi.
