Baku: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov has met with Tian Chunlong, General Manager of the Commercial Vehicle Division of BYD. Minister Jabbarov highlighted that during President Ilham Aliyev’s state visit to China, several significant agreements and memorandums were signed. These include the Joint Statement on the Establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People’s Republic of China, which opens up broad prospects for cooperation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions between Azerbaijan and BYD explored new opportunities for partnership, particularly in knowledge-sharing and capacity-building. Both sides emphasized the importance of investing in new production areas to strengthen the value-added chain.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of the electric bus localization project in the Sumgayit Industrial Park. Objectives for the upcoming period were discussed, aiming to bolster regional integration and economic ties through initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative.
