Baku: Within the framework of the ‘Baku Energy Week’, Azerbaijan and China have solidified their strategic partnership in the energy sector through a newly signed Agreement on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This agreement was established between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy and the China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited. The signing was executed by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, and Bo Wang, Vice President of the Chinese company, as disclosed by the Ministry of Energy to APA-Economics.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this agreement provides the legal framework for the understandings reached during the meeting between Azerbaijan’s President, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the Chairman of the China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited during Aliyev’s state visit to China. The primary objective is to enhance collaboration in developing clean energy and modern energy systems within Azerbaijan, with a focus on implementing specific projects in this sector.

The agreement outlines cooperation with China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited on several critical projects, including the 160 MW Fuzuli Solar Power Plant, a 200 MW wind energy project in the Caspian Sea, and initiatives in hydropower and the ‘Green Energy Corridor’. Furthermore, the agreement encompasses energy planning and network research, the establishment of a Research Center dedicated to advancing green energy usage, and the training of skilled personnel in the field of renewable energy.
