Baku: Azerbaijan and China have signed a significant memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation between their prosecutorial bodies. On a working visit to Azerbaijan, Ying Yong, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China, engaged in a series of formalities and meetings, as reported by the Prosecutor General's Office to APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the delegation, led by Ying Yong, commenced their visit by paying respects at the grave of Azerbaijan's National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor. Furthermore, they visited the resting places of several notable Azerbaijani figures, including ophthalmologist and scientist Academician Zarifa Aliyeva, statesman Aziz Aliyev, and Professor Tamerlan Aliyev. In a gesture of tribute, the delegation also honored the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan's independence and sovereignty at the Alley of Martyrs.

The visit included a critical meeting between Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev and his Chinese counterpart, Ying Yong, to discuss the current and future cooperation between the two countries' prosecution authorities. The culmination of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at identifying new areas for legal cooperation, enhancing the exchange of experience and information, and strengthening the fight against transnational crime. This agreement also seeks to further solidify institutional connections between the prosecutorial bodies of Azerbaijan and China.

In recognition of his efforts to foster cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations, Ying Yong was awarded the jubilee medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan, commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Azerbaijani Prosecutor's Office. The delegation's visit is ongoing as they continue to explore avenues for cooperation.
