Quito: Azerbaijan and Ecuador have reached a significant agreement to mutually waive visas for holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports. This development was confirmed during the visit of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov, to Ecuador on May 4-5. The visit included the first-ever political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the discussions in Quito were led by Elnur Mammadov from Azerbaijan and Alejandro Davalos, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility, from Ecuador. The consultations concluded with the signing of a protocol marking the first political consultations between the two nations. Additionally, a formal agreement was signed to exempt diplomatic, official, and service passport holders from visa requirements, marking a step forward in the diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Ecuador.
During the visit, a meeting was also organized with Azerbaijani businessmen operating in Ecuador. This engagement aimed to bolster economic ties and explore new opportunities for collaboration between the two countries.
