Azerbaijan and Egypt Explore AI Integration in State Audits

Sharm el-sheikh: A high-level meeting between Azerbaijan and Egypt focused on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in state audit processes. The discussions took place during the XXV Congress of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. Vugar Gulmammadov, Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Mohammed Al-Faisal Youssef, President of the Egyptian State Accountability Institution and newly appointed Chairman of INTOSAI for the next three years.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Gulmammadov expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized the Congress’s role in enhancing international cooperation. Al-Faisal Youssef, in welcoming the Azerbaijani delegation, highlighted the significance of AI application in state audits, a priority during his tenure as INTOSAI Chairman. He expressed optimism about potential collaborative initiatives in this area.

Al-Faisal Youssef also shared details regarding the Working Group on the Auditing Impact of Science and Technology, which he leads. He invited Azerbaijan’s Chamber of Accounts to join this group, indicating a commitment to international collaboration. Furthermore, the Egyptian AAO, leveraging its experience as an external auditor for international organizations, sought Azerbaijan’s support in the selection process for the external auditor of the United Nations World Tourism Organization for 2026-2027.

The meeting concluded with discussions on potential cooperation areas, reflecting a mutual interest in advancing state audit practices through innovative technologies.
