Azerbaijan and Georgia Collaborate on Regional Sustainable Development

Tbilisi: The heads of executive authorities and municipal representatives from the Azerbaijani cities of Ganja, Mingachevir, Shirvan, and Sumgayit met with the Chairman of the Tbilisi City Council, Zurab Abashidze, and the Vice Mayor of Tbilisi, Giorgi Tkemaladze, during the "16th Regional Forum on Sustainable Development" held in Tbilisi. The Azerbaijani ambassador to Georgia, Faig Guliyev, was also in attendance.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the primary objective of the meeting was to exchange practical experiences concerning the sustainable development of urban centers and to explore future bilateral cooperation opportunities. Zurab Abashidze highlighted the close and long-standing friendly relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Tbilisi Vice Mayor Giorgi Tkemaladze expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani delegation, noting the importance of their active participation in the regional forum. He emphasized that this engagement is crucial for future municipal ties and will help strengthen strategic cooperation between the two nations.

Ambassador Faig Guliyev appreciated the invitation, underscoring that Tbilisi is a close partner city. He stressed that the ongoing exchange of experience between municipal structures would further solidify the friendly and cooperative relations connecting Tbilisi with Azerbaijan's major cities.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation reiterated their support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing the significance of the country's unity and stable, peaceful development.
