Lisbon: President of the Portuguese Republic Ant³nio Jos© Seguro has sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Independence Day, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the letter expresses warm congratulations and sincere wishes for President Aliyev's personal well-being, as well as for the progress and prosperity of the people of Azerbaijan. President Seguro emphasizes the significance of the National Day for all citizens and friends of Azerbaijan.

In his message, the Portuguese leader reiterates Portugal's commitment to bolstering the bilateral ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. He expresses hope that the opening of the Portuguese Embassy in Baku and the Azerbaijani Embassy in Lisbon will significantly enhance these diplomatic relations.

President Seguro concludes the letter by extending his sincere congratulations and expressing his highest consideration and esteem for President Aliyev.
