Baku: Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, held a meeting with Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament, who visited Azerbaijan to participate in the 10th meeting of Foreign Affairs Committees of Azerbaijani, Turkish, and Georgian Parliaments.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Azerbaijani Parliamentary Speaker emphasized the importance of the trilateral meeting, noting that this format was initiated in Baku in 2014, with the most recent gathering taking place in Shusha in 2022. She highlighted that the trilateral cooperation among Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia plays a vital role in fostering peace, stability, cooperation, and economic development in the region.

Nikoloz Samkharadze conveyed greetings from the Georgian Parliamentary Speaker Shalva Papuashvili to Speaker Sahiba Gafarova. The officials commended the robust high-level relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, acknowledging the successful bilateral collaboration in advancing strategic regional projects. They also celebrated the growing interparliamentary ties between the two nations, emphasizing the essential role of continuous engagement between the countries' Speakers and MPs in strengthening bilateral relations. The meeting underscored the significance of the ongoing bilateral interparliamentary cooperation and collaboration within international parliamentary platforms.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova provided the Georgian official with an update on the regional situation and emerging opportunities following the Washington Summit last August. Nikoloz Samkharadze remarked that the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia would be advantageous for all three countries in the region, expressing Georgia's support for this development. The meeting also explored other matters of mutual interest.
