Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, engaged in discussions with Michael Harms, Chairman of the German Eastern Business Association, alongside representatives from leading German companies during Baku Energy Week. The dialogue focused on the current and future possibilities for collaboration between Azerbaijan and Germany in the energy sector.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions encompassed natural gas, renewable energy, energy efficiency, hydrogen, heat pumps, energy storage systems, and electricity infrastructure. The meeting acknowledged Azerbaijan's recent commencement of gas supplies to Germany and highlighted its increasing role in enhancing Europe's energy security, as well as its dedication to the energy transition process.
The dialogue also shed light on renewable energy projects in Azerbaijan, including electricity interconnectors, green energy corridors, and the potential for electricity exports to Europe. Additionally, the parties exchanged views on cooperation opportunities with German companies concerning regional connectivity and hydrogen-related initiatives.
