Azerbaijan and Germany Strengthen Bilateral Relations Through Strategic Partnership

Baku:The governments of Azerbaijan and Germany are identifying topics and issues of mutual interest and plan to coordinate on these areas in the next stages, as announced by Dirk Lölke, the German Ambassador to Azerbaijan. He made this statement during a press conference at the 'German-Azerbaijani Strategic Partnership and Connectivity Conference 2026.'

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Ambassador Lölke emphasized the importance of establishing a political framework to elevate bilateral relations to a new level. He expressed satisfaction with the progress made following Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Germany at the end of July, highlighting the necessity of providing businesses with political assurance and confidence.

The ambassador noted the significance of Azerbaijan's geographical location for connectivity, despite the risks posed by regional conflicts. He acknowledged the ongoing peace process with Armenia, appreciating the efforts of both governments to ensure regional stability.

The development of economic relations and cooperation in areas such as education is expected to advance dynamically in the coming years. The ambassador stated that the main focus of the conference was on connectivity and the economy, underlining the close collaboration between the German Embassy and the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce.
