Baku: Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister, Yalchin Rafiyev, recently held discussions with Workneh Gebeyehu Negewo, the Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), a regional organization that includes eight countries from the Horn of Africa. The meeting aimed to explore potential areas of collaboration between Azerbaijan and the IGAD member states.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the IGAD countries across both bilateral and international platforms. The importance of reciprocal visits and the establishment of institutional mechanisms to maintain an ongoing political dialogue were highlighted during the talks.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on potential areas of cooperation in various sectors such as politics, economy, education, healthcare, climate action, public services, transport, and communications. Both parties expressed interest in further exploring these opportunities to strengthen bilateral and regional relations, addressing issues of mutual interest.
