Baku: Family, women, and children-related issues are a priority for all societies, says committee chairperson. On March 18, Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan, met with Berlian Helmy, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the country.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Bahar Muradova emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia are developing on an upward trajectory, both bilaterally and multilaterally. She noted that the existence of common customs and beliefs is also reflected in interstate relations. Muradova stated that family, women, and children-related issues are a priority area for all societies, adding that these areas play an important role in the development of human capital.

Ambassador Berlian Helmy stressed that Azerbaijan and Indonesia share common values in the cultural and social spheres. He highlighted that there is a great potential for cooperation in the field of protecting women's rights and children. He noted that these areas are important among Indonesia's development priorities, and the positions of both countries overlap on international platforms, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the UN, and the Non-Aligned Movement.

The sides also exchanged views on prospects for future cooperation and the implementation of joint initiatives.
