Baku: Iran's strikes on neighboring countries are contrary to international law and the principles of good neighborliness, Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Issam bin Saleh Aljutaili told journalists, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a relevant resolution has been adopted by the UN Security Council on the matter, condemning such actions. The resolution underscores the international community's stance against these aggressive acts, which are seen as destabilizing to the region.
The diplomat noted that Saudi Arabia is currently coordinating with other partner countries on this issue. This collaboration aims to address the violations and seek a collective response that upholds international principles and maintains regional peace.
The ambassador also recalled that the current situation in the region will be discussed at an emergency meeting to be held in Riyadh today, where views will be exchanged on ways to ease tensions. The meeting is expected to gather representatives from several countries, who will deliberate on strategic measures to mitigate the conflict and promote stability.
