Baku: The 54th meeting of the Permanent Joint Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran on water and energy resource management of the Aras River took place in Baku, as reported by the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ADSEA) to APA-Economics.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting was led by Zakir Guliyev, the Azerbaijani co-chair of the Azerbaijan-Iran Joint Commission and representative of ADSEA. The gathering included representatives from ADSEA, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, and the “Azerenergy” Open Joint Stock Company.
Several key issues were addressed during the meeting, including the determination of the operating mode of the Aras reservoir and the distribution of water between the two countries. Additionally, relevant distribution tables for the joint use of water and energy resources in the Aras River were prepared, culminating in the signing of a Protocol.
