Baku: Presidents of Azerbaijan and Iran met in the capital city of Kyrgyzstan on August 31. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, held discussions with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during their meeting, President Pezeshkian fondly recalled his previous interactions with President Aliyev, highlighting the support, condolences, and humanitarian aid provided by Azerbaijan during Iran's challenging times. He expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the Iranian state and its people for Azerbaijan's assistance.

The meeting underscored the significant potential for strengthening bilateral ties, with President Pezeshkian expressing Iran's interest in expanding relations with Azerbaijan across various domains. He described the relationship between the two nations as brotherly and friendly, reiterating Iran's intent to maintain good relations with all neighboring countries.

In response, President Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan's support for Iran during its difficult circumstances was a demonstration of brotherhood.
