Azerbaijan and Iran to Enhance Customs Cooperation

Baku: Today, Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Lieutenant General of the Customs Service Shahin Bagirov, met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan, Mojtaba Demirchilu. The meeting focused on the relationship between the customs services of both nations, emphasizing their role in bolstering economic relations and increasing mutual trade turnover.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, discussions also covered customs-related issues highlighted in a recent meeting in Baku, which included cooperation between Azerbaijan, Russia, and Iran in transport, energy, and customs sectors. The discussions underscored the significance of enhancing the appeal of transport corridors that traverse the two countries, ensuring the smooth and rapid facilitation of international trade and transit, and particularly strengthening the exchange of information.
