Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, hosted an Italian delegation led by Admiral Giacinto Ottaviani, National Armaments Director at the Italian Ministry of Defense, on July 9. During the meeting, Colonel General Hasanov emphasized the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy, highlighting the importance of their defense cooperation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Admiral Ottaviani expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted the value of reciprocal visits and experience exchanges. He expressed confidence that military cooperation between the two nations would enhance their defense capabilities.

The discussions, which also included Luca Di Gianfrancesco, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Azerbaijan, covered various topics of mutual interest. These discussions focused on military cooperation, military-technical collaboration, and military education, aiming to further strengthen the defense relations between Azerbaijan and Italy.
