Azerbaijan and Japan Explore Expansion of Visa-Free Travel Arrangements

Baku:Azerbaijan and Japan are exploring the possibility of expanding their current visa-free travel arrangements. Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department, highlighted this potential development at a session titled "The Language of Peace and Combating Disinformation," which was part of the Baku Culture and Media Dialogue Platform.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Hajiyev noted that the filming of a Japanese movie in Azerbaijan has increased interest among Japanese tourists, who are discovering Azerbaijan as an attractive destination. Currently, a one-year visa-free travel arrangement is in place, and there is an anticipation of its extension.

Hajiyev emphasized that the visa-free arrangement is mutual, with many Azerbaijanis also wishing to travel to Japan. He expressed optimism that the relevant agencies and foreign ministries of both countries could collaborate to establish a fully visa-free regime, facilitating easier travel for tourists and enhancing cultural ties.
