Baku: Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, met with Omar Barakat Al Nahar, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Azerbaijan, to explore ways to enhance their bilateral cooperation. According to Trend News Agency, Gafarova emphasized the robust diplomatic relationship between the two nations, noting that over the past 32 years, their cooperation has reached a substantial level. She highlighted the potential for further collaboration across various sectors.
The discussions placed particular emphasis on the strong inter-parliamentary relations, with both parties stressing the importance of reciprocal visits and the role of parliamentary friendship groups. Gafarova also expressed her appreciation for Jordan’s active involvement in the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network (NAM PN).
Additionally, the speaker shared insights on the peace process involving Azerbaijan and Armenia and discussed potential cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Jordanian parliaments within international organizations. She extended her best wishes to Ambassador Al Nahar for the continued success of his endeavors.
