Baku: The 4th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was held in Baku.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting commenced with participants paying homage to National Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honors, followed by laying flowers at the graves of prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and visiting the Alley of Martyrs and the Victory Park to honor Azerbaijani martyrs.

The meeting was attended by co-chairs Azerbaijan’s Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev and Jordan’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah. They discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation and explored opportunities for enhancing collaboration, reviewing the extensive agenda set for the meeting.

Minister Sahil Babayev highlighted the over 30-year relationship between Azerbaijan and Jordan, noting the significance of the high-level political dialogue between President Ilham Aliyev and King Abdullah II in strengthening bilateral ties. He emphasized the importance of the Intergovernmental Commission as a platform for advancing initiatives and fostering new cooperation areas, particularly in trade, investment, and other sectors.

Minister Yarub Qudah reiterated Jordan’s commitment to deepening economic cooperation with Azerbaijan, emphasizing opportunities in trade, investment, industry, energy, tourism, and logistics. Discussions at the meeting focused on expanding trade, economic cooperation, and technical partnerships between the two nations, with expectations of signing agreements to solidify economic collaborations.
